Low voltage on starting will place the HUD in default which is oil level etc. Also your DIC will return to the odometer no matter where you had it set.
Classic low voltage symptoms. Check your battery and look for leakage. If leakage, clean the battery tray and wiring under it.
My HUD actually went haywire on me. Everything lit up all at once, then it went out, every now and then it would work but it would get bright then dim. I took it in and they replaced it. And just think that is the only option I did not want! Figures, the first thing to go wrong
