This is an old post, but does anyone know how the problem is resolved?

Is it a battery issue?

Classic low voltage symptoms. Check your battery and look for leakage. If leakage, clean the battery tray and wiring under it.

My HUD actually went haywire on me. Everything lit up all at once, then it went out, every now and then it would work but it would get bright then dim. I took it in and they replaced it. And just think that is the only option I did not want! Figures, the first thing to go wrong
