Where on the tranny do I find the plug to put the resistor into ?
In the engine compartment or under the car by the bell housing?
Bought the resistor but don't want to _ _ _ _ it up!
Under the car on the transmission. There are two similar plugs, one is the reverse lockout. I'm sorry, I don't remember which is which. I'm sure someone will chime in and let you know.
Look in the tech hints section as there may be pictures.
OK
One plug is on dr. sd. forward and the other is on the pass side towards the rear.
I put the resistor in the forward one, It seems to be working , one thing does the light still come on? because mine still does but the lockout is disengaged.
Is this correct.
Resistor on the wiring harness side?

You are fine - the light will come on but no lockout will occur. It is the plug on the driver side, and the resistor goes on the wiring harness. You may want to cover the hole in the tranny to keep the contacts clean.
The resistor is put in to keep the lack of connection from throwing a code. Check for codes to see if you have suceeded (hold down the "options" button on the DIC panel and hit "fuel" four times and watch). If you are getting a code you have the wrong connector (be careful of shifting into 5 so you don't hit reverse until you get the right connector). Clear any codes by holding down the reset buttin when the code you wnat to clear is displayed.
The light to tell you to shift will still come on regardless.

Re: Where do I find CAGS plug? (Elk)
Hi Give me a call at LG Motorsports 972-272-7753
I will give you one of our Cags eliminators FREE. Just ask for me and remind me that you read this on the Corvette Forum, and I will send you one at no charge. Ours is a dual weather pack connector, that goes in a series so you have no plug hang loose.

Does this work for everyone? I'd like one for free... :D
Very kind offer, especially since it was clear he was having a little bit of trouble figuring this out. I found it worth buying an eliminator just for the weatherpacks alone.
Thanks for supporting the Forum and a C5 owner.
