I just had a rear differential leak fixed on my 2001 now when I put her in drive I'm getting a vibration. I'm taking her back to dealer on Tuesday does anyone have any advice?
Can you feel it, or just hear it? Could be they did not line up the exhaust system very well. Good luck! :skep: :)
I tend to agree with Carpe. Hopefully, a minor adjustment is all you need.
This is probably a good example of service that requires a post-driving test before the car goes back to its owner. It sounds like they never did this.
Where in the diff was the leak? If from one of the drive axles, they might not have installed it correctly causing the drive axle to vibrate. Quite common on some front wheel drive vehicles. In your case, the vibration would be more in the seat than with the steering wheel, indicting the vibration is in the rear.
I've had a vibration that is sometimes more noticeable than other times while stopped and in drive (probably worse in reverse). It feels just as you describe. I took the car to the dealer when it was under warrantee and they were saying, "what vibration?" I have since gone through several exhausts and had the tranny out twice (playing with torque converters), but the vibration is pretty much the same. I sure wish I could get rid of it. Let me know what was done if you get yours fixed.

:confused:I hope I don't have to go through all that you listed above. I'm sure they will say what vibration. When you drive a car everyday you kinda get to know her and I know it wasn't there before. I'm just praying that isn't their responce.
I will definitely let you know what or if they do anything to correct the problem.
Well I got a call from the dealer stating that the vette is ready, I spoke with service advisor and he told me that the exhaust needed lined up. So I will be find out for sure on my way home this evening.
