Blackwing Install Question
Heres one for you guys
I just bought a blackwing from a forum member.....he sent the blackwing with the 4.5 in coupler for the 2001 + vettes.......I have a 2000 and the filter won't fit in the MAF...the opening on the filter is larger then the diameter of the MAF..by an inch.....I contacted donaldson and they said the part I am missing is a GM part......called an adapter (GM part no 25171042)....I ordered the part..but I was thinking...shouldn't have this part arleady been on my car??? Or atleast have come with the blackwing???

I know that when I ordered my blackwing that I had to specify that it was for a 2001 and they included the larger coupler. It sounds like you got one for a 2001 or newer car and you need the coupler for the pre 01.

i just pulled the rubber ring off of the blackwing and put the coupler over the filter and the over the maf.
assumed that was how it was supposed to work.. who knows.. heh
