I just bought a used 2000 MN6 Coupe and have a quick question. If I disconnect the battery, will I have to enter a security code on the radio or anything else when I reconnect.
Re: Disconnect Battery, security code for radio (Torqued84)
If any of the previous owners have entered a security code/activitated the security, then yes. If no security codes have never been entered, not a problem..Hope this helps. If the codes have been set and the radio becomes locked, search the forum for the procedure to unlock it or shoot me an email. I have the procedure copied in my computer files...
Re: Disconnect Battery, security code for radio (Norris)
If the security code has been set you will have flashing red lite on the radio. Do a search and the procedures for changing or resetting the code have been posted several times.
Re: Disconnect Battery, security code for radio (Torqued84)
Simply turn the radio OFF before removing the key and disconnecting the battery and it wont go into lock mode...If the radio is on the ON position when disconnecting the battery,it will lock :yesnod:

What a great theft deterrent system that would be!
That is not so, of course.
Whenever the radio looses its battery power, it goes into "LOC", if the the theft deterrent system was set to on.
And that is does whether the radio was switched on or not.

Dude,I do this stuff every day  Having replaced hundreds of dead and leaky Delco's over the years,I have never had to unlock a radio :nono: Like I said, the known trick is to turn the radio to the "OFF" position before the key is removed or it will lock....
Re: Disconnect Battery, security code for radio (C-5 TECH)
