I might try Amsoil in my car if it didn't fail so bad in my racing snowmobile, never had a problem with the motor (1000cc 265 hp. 510LBS total sled weight, you do the hp to weight) until I tried Amsoil racing oil, called them several times and was told to send in the bad parts for them to check. After that I had a bad feeling about their oil , plus it's more money than the Mobile.

:skep:  :leaving: These guys have the same problem as you...NOT http://www.amsoil.com/snocross/index.htm
PS
I just noticed your a Amsoil dealer , one more thing your snowcross comparison wasn't a good one Tate & D.J. Eckstrom are or should I saw were very very good cross country riders until they teamed up with Polaris and Amsoil in an event dominated buy Ski-doo and Artic Cat

Mobil 1 has flash point over 450 Degrees You are wasting money buying Amsoil, as you will never see 450 degree temps in oil
Flash point is only one small factor in an oil, so don't base your decision just on that. Amsoil has a few advantages over Mobil 1, although to be honest, they are both very close in quality. The differences can only been seen in oil analysis. If you use either of those two oils you'll get an extremely long engine life. In the end it might be the difference between Amsoil getting you to 300k while Mobil 1 goes to 280k. (this is just a rough estimate, don't quote me on that)

The one area Amsoil is better is in terms of oil consumption. Those with LS1s who burn oil with Mobil 1 usually find they burn a lot less with Amsoil, mainly because Amsoil is formulated on the higher end of the 30wt scale, while Mobil 1 is on the lower end.

Are you saying that Mobile is closer to the 5w30 and Amsoil is closer to 5w40? I presume you are measuring this at a fixed temp problably 40 C and these would be Kinematic viscosities correct?

Amsoil had a definite advantage over M-1 Tri-Syn. However, the new M-1 Super Syn is now showing better analysis results then Tri-Syn. If you look at the specifications, Amsoil is upper to mid 30 weight whereas Mobil-1 is low 30 weight, almost 20 weight. That was important to me. Also, the Noack volatility of the Mobil-1 is higher then Amsoil so it will promote higher oil usage. If you go to Amsoil, I would recommend the 5W-30 or 10W-30 rather then the 0W-30 Series 2000. My oil analysis using the Amsoil 5W-30 was excellent after 6,200 miles of use last year.

I don't generally push or promote a product, but will provide information so someone can form their own opinion.

No, actually Mobil is closer to a 5W-20 and Amsoil is mid/upper range 5W-30.

Mobil-1 Viscosity at 100 degrees C = 10.0
Amsoil Viscoisty at 100 degrees C = 11.7

30 weight range at 100 degrees C = 9.30-12.49

Ok i see your point, but we still come back to the fact that the ls1 Lt1 and the Z06 engine were spec'ed to the Mobile 1 oil I've seen all these engines oil samples come back from the lab with both good and bad and out of spec parameters, I've seen engines with high and low ware from both companies what defines the best oil for a given engine.
