Default "Floats" with BFG Drag Radials - Problem?

To improve my 60' times I have replace my rear Goodyear F-1s (295x18) with the BFG (315x18) Drag Radial. I still have the F-1s on the front. I'm using Z06 repro. wheels. The car handles different, better traction straight ahead but seems to float at speeds over 85 and I have to correct steering on curves as the car seems to want to sway. Anybody else had this problem and have suggestions. Is it dangerous? or do I need to just get used to it? Your responses apprreciated, thanks :seeya

What pressures are you running in the DR's?

I had the same problem with mine. I had way too much air pressure in them. I started at 44PSI (recommended from the tire shop) dropped them to 32 PSI and finally I am running them at 25 PSI. MUCH BETTER

Go by GMs specs, not the tires specs. PSI is judged by the weight of your car, not tire size. 30psi on the street, 20psi or alittle less for the strip-the burnout really expands them and raises the tire pressure. I've gone down the track with as little as 12psi with the DRs. 18 seems to be about best, depending on the weather. If your on the street going through curves with to little or to much psi, your rim will want to roll off the tire, since your not putting down a full contact patch.

That is normal. Drag radials are for straight line performance, not handling.

Don't drag radials have very soft sidewalls to help straight away traction?
If that's true you are going to give up quite a bit in the "twisties"
In my experience it's not real good to mix tires with big differences in sidewall flex. But, again, I don't that much about drag radials.
