LG Production Headers!
I ll butt in here for a minute. The lowest part of the original LG Longtubes was the "V" flange clamps. The new production set does not use the V flanges any longer. It was one way to reduce the cost. This in fact allows for better ground clearance. But keep in mind that the original hand made headers already had plenty of clearance.
YES, we will still build the custom sets of LG Longtubes just as before. I have 10 sets of tubes on the way from Stainless Works as we speak. They will still use V flange connections and also use the expensive hand made racing merge collectors. Nothing with regard to our original headers will change. And for those of you who want only the best, then we will be at your service and continue to provide the "Original".
The new "LG Longtube headers by Borla" (as they will be labled) will be of the same design as the originals but they will be a production version. ie 32" primaries, merge collectors, and 3" x pipe. The Merge collectors will now be machine made. That was a big help in reducing the cost. Plus the production capacity of Borla to build 50 sets at a time, in less than one week, is a hugh factor in reducing the price. The function and performance of thes headers and production merge collectors, is only slightly less than the racing Merge collectors, but still superior to most other collector choices. The dyno results above still show the BIG low end torque where you can feel it.
The production system comes in 3 sections. first the headers with welded merge collectors. Then the 3" X pipe with clamps at the front and rear of the X. And then the last 3" section that connects the X pipe to the muffler at the 2, two bolt flanges. It is all 3 inch tube and only reduces to stock where it connects to the mufflers.
The cats will install inplace of the X pipe. This will allow the cats to be interchangable with the X pipe with normal flat clamps. We had to eliminate the V flange clamps to reduce the cost. What you will get at first is the "Off road" version. which will not include cats. We are working with Random cats to come up with a package that can be an easy accessory to the system, and provide for easily installed cats. But I reitterate that the first systems will be off road versions without cats, until we can get with Random.
At any rate, what you see in the photo is the full LG Longtube system by Borla, in 304 stainless steel. And stainless steel headers hold the heat in, so coating is not necessary for heat reduction. Coating would only be used for looks.
for those of you who already have an X pipe, you can sell those on the forum, and reduce your cash outlay.
Feel free to call me with any questions or to place your order.
Thanks
Lou G

.
How does that X pipe with the new kit compare to the "TANDEM CROSSOVER" X pipe you guys used on your orginal system?
Phillip

Thanks, and I'm ready to buy when I get back from the 50th. Will you be up there with a set to show off?
Thanks,
Steve

Schweeet! My cash flow is rather strapped, but I suspect I may be getting a set of these installed for Cruise-In V

I'll call you around 10 am in the morning to place my Pre Production LT order.
I've been waiting, and bugging you & Jeremy, since March about these LT's. It will be so  to have my 01 C5 Coupe at 350RWHP, about the same as a 2003 Z06 (stock). Right now I have 321.8RWHP and Jeremy (Godspeed) thinks with the Production LT's & re-tune he can get me to or real close to 350RWHP :D
Right now, Borla is considering a 3" Stinger to go with this. I am sure that if there is demand, then it will get built.
thanks guys.

All systems will come from LGMotorsports. This is a Private label system that is being built for LG Motorsports by Borla, under our name.
At first this will be an off road system. We will send the Xpipe to Random as soon as we can, to get the catalytic converters built. this will be an option that will be a little down the road.
Thanks,
Lou G
