Ok, guys, sorry, guess I'm just an idiot. How stupid could I be that the car runs fine with a stock MAF, and both of the superior parts put on by the inferior people working on the car send the KR through the roof?

And, so sorry that when we made the runs on the SAME day under the SAME conditions, we OBSERVED less than 1 degree of KR with the stock MAF, and almost 9 degrees with the GMAF. But, since we're such idiots and not professional tuners, we COULD NOT have observed THAT.

Sheesh, I ought to just dump my Vette and get a Yugo.

Geeze...I leave the room for one minute and you guys are ripping each other's throats out...just playing...I appreciate all of your opinions...I am truely learning a lot.

Mark from PACE Performance has contacted me and advised me that the MAF I ordered from them is not calibrated to work with an aftermarket camshaft. He agreed to take the MAF back and return my $$$...that's pretty cool...I was scared I'd have to fight for it or sell it here on the forum...it is a really neat MAF...a lot bigger than the stock one for sure...even though they are not a supporting sponsor you might want to check them out.

I have now removed my PACE MAF and re-installed the Granatelli MAF for now as I have no other one. I will probably make some more runs tomorrow just for S&G's to see if my LTFT's come back down. I am going back to stock for now until I get everything else worked out. Once I purchase LS1 Edit (a looonnng time from now probably) I will attempt to upgrade the MAF or descreen the current one and recalibrate it through my PCM then.

I posted the Granatelli here and on ebay...hopefully I can sell it soon as to cut my losses...nobody has a used one they wanna get rid of...most tuners and parts shops want $150+ for a used one...gonna get a new one from GM Parts Direct.

Man after all this is done...I'm gonna have to buy everyone beers or something for all the help yall have been....

:yesnod:  :hurray: Excellent! One down! I'm going to be looking for a stock LS-1 MAF for you; wonder if you could find one on LS1.com or from an F-body?

Hope to see you Friday,
Mike

Mike I just ordered a stock MAF from GMPartsDirect.com, they had the cheapest MAF I've found...I should get it sometime at the beginning of next week...will throw it on and make some more test runs...if all goes well as it did last time, I'll take it to LGM to have the fine tuning done.

I'm probably going to go with my dad to one of his friend's house for the 4th...he lives out in BFE so they let us shoot off fireworks and stuff...I'll get you some sparklers if you want...the pretty ones too...

Excellent news on the MAF; can't wait to see what LGM will be able to do now that they won't have to battle the KR.

Have fun with your Dad Friday; we'll see you around sometime.

Have a good one,
Mike

Carlos, check the gm site also by entering your vin # and seeing if there are any pcm updates for the knock retard programming.

This is a great idea..however he will need to re-flash with LS1edit..

Any update will blow away any custom tune...

His current tune isnt very good....I would reflash and start over with all of the updates in place. I hate that gm found the pcm problem for the gas guages and I gotta pay for the reflash as the tech will have to be on drugs to think anything on my car is stock....it has that awesome lobe sep. shake! I know there is a knock retard update for his car as there is for mine.

Can you say :voided warranty?

I only found two updates that I need:

Cal. ID# 09352018 - Control Module Calibration
Cal. ID# 09355166 - Corrects unwanted cruise drop-out on vehicles with new active handling system.

Is this what you're talking about???
