hey .. im new here .. currently an m3 owner but currently searching for a used c5 ... i have read thru the forums .. im just curious .. i know with m3s there is like a group of basic mods .. just wondering what on a c5 .. i know like an intake .. bored tb .. exhaust .. pulleys .. but what else .. sorry if this is a noob question .. thanks
A good set of headers and LS1 edit tuning are also some relatively inexpensive mods that make good power on the C5's. Read every post you can in the Tech/Performance section and ask lots of questions and we will do our best to answer them for you. Welcome to the board
LS6 Intake
Vararam
Polished TB
Smooth Air Coupler (doesn't add any thing but look good)
Pulleys
Plugs and Wires
Headers
Cat Back Exhaust
X Pipe
Have the car tuned
Vararam is coming out with a new TB and intake that are getting some really good numbers.
Blackwing is fine, he is refering to a new intake manifold and TB that is getting 25rwhp out of a basically stock c5, if you use this with a good air intake (like the blackwing etc) pulleys, GHL exhaust or similar, no cats (xpipe) headers you will be well over 350rwhp but maybe not quite to 400 depends on tuning, a cam would put you over the top and a set of heads should put you at least 425rwhp---some of the guys like LGM and Cartek are getting 450 and better out of their H/C packages---you will want a shifter and clutch somewhere down the line as well, a 410 or 390 rearend will immediately give you the feeling of about 400rwhp and similar performance in drag times.
yeah im gonna check out cartek .. they are 2 min from my house .. i pass by there all the time .. actuallly just passed by .. 2 z06s and a yellow c5 outside heh
