Default With a mini tub...

Can you fit 13" wheels in the back? That would be sweet...

I did my with LPE mini tub no problem at all. im running 18x10.5 front & 19x12 rear 345/30/19 pilot sports those are the biggest size tire made. Before i started to cut the car i mounted rim & tire on the car to see how much room do i needed to cut. I tell you what not that much at all, because the tire barely rubbed. I could cut 1 1/2 " off it would be alot of room, but i cut 2 1/2" off for wider rim later on like 13". 345 will look wider if on 13" rim like the viper, but over all dim. will be the same as 12" wide rim. e-mail me if you need more info.

I'm not a drag racer if this is what this is about, but in any case I am not sure what the issue is here. I run 335/30-17 Hoosiers on my race car on CCW 17x12" wheels with no problem and with no tubbing. Perhaps I misunderstand the post? Is the issue smaller diameter rear wheels? Regards, Robert

TNTC5 - If you did the mini tub yourself then you should know that during full suspension droop (rear completely off the ground) that there's only an 1/8" of clearence between the upper control arm and rim. I know this because i too did the mini tub myself and i'm also running the 19x12 (345/30/19) wheels. See link:
http://www2.stonemedia.com/~e_lynch/...mclearence.jpg

Also with this 19x12 setup the wheels stick out one full inch past the wheel well. See link:
http://www2.stonemedia.com/~e_lynch/...extension1.jpg

Even with the LPE "shock travel limiter" kit (which limits the downward travel of the rear wheel) the 19x12 rim can only be pushed under the car about 3/4", which means you will still have 1/4" sticking out past the fender lip. The reason for this is because of two issues: 1) Control arm clearence and 2) Frame clearence.

Now try to imagine putting a 13" rim on and wanting it all to still fit under the wheel well.......NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. :nono:

I have step-by-step pics on how to do the tubbing yourself with about ~$40 in supplies and a weekend. Email me with an address that will accept 4meg's worth of pics.
