i'm hoping to have nitrous installed on my car in the next month, so i'm going to get a set of bfg 18" g-force t/a drag radials to handle the power and have a couple of questions.
1- the rims are 10.5" wide, what size would you get 295/35 or 315/30? i'm leaning toward the 295/35(closer to stock size)
2- I go the the local 1/8 mile alot but the closest 1/4 mile is 2 hours away by interstate how are the tires for interstate traveling
a) what kind of pressure on the street
b) what kind of pressure on the track
c) is it AVOID the rain or just be very careful
d) how many runs do you get out of a pair
1, I say go with 315. I know you are supposed to have a 11 rim. But it is do able.(everybody has a different opinion)
I use a 275 on a 8.5 rim with no problems.
2, I find them O.K on the highway. Just take it easy around the turns.
a, I run 22-24psi when driving. 18 at the track
I would definitely avoid rain. They are all over the place when it is even just a little wet.
D, It depends on how much of a burn out really. Should be good for a season though. The more bald they get the better they hook.
I've been throught two pair of BFGs. Each set gave 100+ runs, plus about 8K street miles. Once the tread wears away, they are still great at the track but treacheous in the wet. With tread they are OK in the rain if your watch it. I ran 16-18 psi at the track and 30 psi on the street.
Suggest the 315s for their bigger footprint and better traction on launch and shifts. You'll need that with nitrous.
when i called to order the tires, he asked me if i had thought about the 345/30/18's, i didn't realize they made this size, so will this tire fit on a 10.5" rim without tubing my car, i don't care if it sticks out a little(as long as it doesn't rub), i saw some of the pictures guys posted of there 335's and thought they looked awsome but didn't know if that extra 10mm was too much or if they were using different rims. please let me know if you can use these tires, i think they would be AWSOME LOOKING and performing.
