For now I am using two 3volt power sources, one for up and one for down- I had a relay set up that inverted the voltage but it was two cumbersome- the little battery boxes are located under the center console near the Traction Control button- to change batteries I lift of the pannel with the traction control button and access the battery case- takes 5 seconds.
My upgrade of the system will probably work of the 12 volt system (throtled back for the servos) and have one switch- the other will be used to activate my garage opener which will take the place of the battery boxes -
Hey! Great idea..... Some minivans have automatic rear liftgates. Maybe some of the parts could be used for the Vette's rear hatch? Anyone out there talented enough to pull these ideas off? :lurk:
Um. My 1989 has that feature. You press the pod release on either door, or the one in the center console, and the glass pod raises automatically. I was under the impression that the C5's had this feature as well?
I too have thought about the motorized hood idea. I'm leaning towards getting the magnuson SC now that they're talking about an intercooled design coming out. I think a high polished SC combined with some linear actuators (remove the hood latches) would be pretty  raise and lower the hood from within the car :D
The Convertible´s and Hardtop´s trunk only pop up an inch when you push the button to release it. You then have to lift it manually.
The suggestion was to have a servo motor of some kind to lift it entirely, and also to close it maybe, at a push of a button.
Hey Manny,
In his original statement, he said "hatch," and I think he meant the glass hatch, which still has me wondering if the C5's glass hatch opens automatically or if you have to actually get out of the car to open it up. Man, if you have to get out the open the glass up, that's a really poor design, and makes me glas I have my C4!!!
Who is cooking rice? I smell rice.
:nono: Is the Ferrari Enzo rice too then? :smash:
Nice work!
Funny how distance lends itself to bravery. I think most people knew it was a joke and would respond as such. For the record, I think the ferarri enzo, like every ferrari before it is overweight, overpriced, and is quite ugly. If i had one, I would sell it and its start button and buy a vette. I doubt it is faster than mine anyway.
Once again, congrats on the mod. All jokes aside.
I know, I know,
:nono: :nono: :nono: to me ......right? Pleeeeeeze

Are you joking again? Ferrari's ugly? You must be blind. What do you have done that makes your car faster then an Enzo? Ferrari has created some of the most beautiful body designs ever. I don't think the Enzo is their best looking design, but the Modena, 550, 355, Testerosa? Come on, who are you kidding?
I'm a die hard vette fan, but I don't think there is a single vette in the world I would take over an F50 or Enzo. I would own a Ferrari if I had the money.
BTW the start button and servo door are a pretty cool idea.

I'm with you in saying that not all Ferraris are ugly but the Enzo is butt ugly. I'd take McLaren F1 styling over the Enzo anyday.
Just trying to hit a nerve. I don't think I will have to worry about the purchase of a ferarri in the near future. I like some of them outside but dude, what is the deal with these interiors?
