I have two questions about reprogramming a PCM for a '99. My PCM is junk, but I have two good ones out of a '97. Can a '97 PCM be reprogrammed for a '99 using a Tech2?
Is there a way to turn off the tire pressure monitoring system when installing aftermarket wheels with out runflat tires or sensors. I do not want to purchase new sensors, and get into a situation where I need to use a can of Fix-A-Flat that will damage the sensor.
It may be able to be reprogrammed, but I am not sure. It definitely does not have the same plug though. Look at the computer connection compared to your 99, they are not the same shape. Unfortunately they will not interchange with each other.

Thanks,

The tire pressure monitoring system can not be disabled. I looked into this for my 98.. I think only from 2000 on can get this done using Tech2.
Thanks for the info. I am a little confused though. I installed a PCM into my '99 that I had no idea what year it was from, and it started and ran fine, but had a few codes. It was also out of an automatic car and mine is a 6 speed, so it had issues there also. I hooked my scan tool up to it and the VIN in the PCM came back as being a '97. So, are the PCMs and the plugs the same physical profile, but the wiring within the plugs different?
