I have a RM twin flow intake with Z06 screens(fog light housing opened up).I have a continuous temperature reading from the drivers side filter displayed on my visor. The inlet temp. gets to ambient in less than a mile and stays their until I hit a red light. Before the light changes the temp. has already gone up at least 10*.My point is the cold air is working at highway speeds but not in stop and go trafic. At the strip if you have to wait any length of time in the staging area with the hood down you lose all the of the cold air until maybe the last 100 '.Now you are a little cooler at the top end but you get zilch off the line.I bet the Halltech unit gives you the cool air much quicker.

yankee, that makes sense. It seemed to me that when you're moving you should be getting enough air flow to approximate the ambient temp, but once you slow/stop the air temp will go up. I vaguely recall others making the same observation with some underhood temperature sensors they had positioned on their cars. Appreciate your input.

What about the blackwing, with the cold air cover, and the shroud cut? Thats plenty of filter area, all outside of the engine area with a blackwing! Works great for me!?
