Re: Bought a Dremel Tool, porting TB this weekend. (mike76002)
Recently had mine off..to polish the exterior..since I was there, I ported polished the interior..If anything on a stock motor, throttle response seems a little snappier..but it sure looks pretty! :D

Why some peolpe got so upset i dont know , your here on this site researching and getting ideas same as me. When i said "I know some guys..." I was speaking of two people i know that come out to the street races with there z's and there corvette jackets, ball cap ,and fold out chairs and open there hood revealing all there mods, you ask them typical questions about "there" car and they have no clue whats been done to it, they just dropped it off and picked it up. Thats fine you might not like working on cars whatever, but this perticular person is always saying I,I,I trying to make people beleive he's doing the work on his car. He said to me two weeks ago he liked the height my z was at and asked me if i just cut out a few coils or was it a kit. Well call me an butt whatever, but this is someone who obviously knows nothing about his car. I wasn't putting down anyone who doesnt work on there cars and want them faster etc. Just dont lie about doing the work yourself to brag when people know you have no clue. PEACE OUT

I understand your point...Here is a similar story..
I had a good friend who bought a 62 Vette in MINT condition, had it for a few years. Then sold it last year. I went to a local car show and saw the new owner displaying it.. When I started up a friendly conversation about the history of the car he got real wierd on me.
Like I pulled his toupee off or flipped his comb-over. :p
I'm thinking this dude was trying to make everyone think this was the product of his hard work. :lolg: :lolg:

I have gotten in so much trouble expressing that very same sentiment.
One thing in defense of the check book hot rodders is that they finance the R&D that eventually trickles down to the DIYer.
Also some folks just don't have the time, but still want to share the hobby.

Job, done. My TB had bad casting that caused pitting, surface deformaties, and small cast bubbles. I had to sand it all out. Then I had to reform the whole TB back and forth several times. Once it was done, the TB was bigger. I then ported and polished it. Took about 14 hrs. total. There was improvement in SOTP hp! I'm sure the pitting was robbing some power. Also, I'm sure this job was atypical, due to the bad casting. Thanks a million to chuckster for the HowTo! The first pic shows the TB out and cleaned up. The second pic shows the pitting in the venturi. The third pic shows the TB sanded out and the PCV port filled. The 4th and 5th pics show the finished TB

I got the same issue as you when sand it down ... see many bubbles stuff ...
Will hope to finish it tomorrow.
Also special thanks to Chuckster for his great writeup
