whats more reliable in the long run a cartek 2x package with 4.10 gears or a magnuson supercharger with a 100 shot of nitrous and internals, any suggestions would be great
yeah that was my question. i just want to get my c5 into the high tens and yet be a daily driver so the reliability matters a lot. i was also thinking about the lingenfelter just the 427 package. any other ideas on what i should do. thanks for helping me :seeya
Neather of those setups garantee 10's but as far as reliability, heads and cam would be my choice. now if you got the dough to go with the lingenfelter 427 which im assuming you mean the stroker kit, not the turbocharged 427 kit, that should put you right where you want to be. Now toss a conservative 100 shot of nitrous when that gets old and that should hold you for another few monthes. The 427 kit will beef up your bottom end so in the future you have the ability to add, blower, nitrous ,turbo and know your bottom end is up to par. Adding 150hp to these ls6's is about your limit with a stock bottom end. Not that people aren't getting more than 550hp out of the motors but their bottom end reliability is a roll of the dice. I would go with the stroker kit, bullet proof my bottom end, do heads and cam and add a 150+ nitrous kit with all the bells and whistles. I read one of the major reasons chevy hasen't mass produced blower motors like ford is the maintance and warranty issues.
There was a guy on here w/ the magnuson and a 100 shot that was running high tens. I think his car had well over a 100k miles. Maybe he will chime in. Kaley
I heard that adding 100 shot of nitrous really makes a difference on blower cars . I wonder if they are getting more than 100hp gains. Positive displacement pump ,heat due to pressure from blower reduced plus the added fuel and oxygen from nitrous ,as long as the driver can keep her straight 10's are happening. If i had the dough I would want to beef up the bottom end for reliability so while your in there stroke it . There is still no substitute for cubic inches . blowers ,turbos, nitrous they all have cubic inch figures for there specific sizes, pressures ,and jetting. now your cooking with gas.
