170 MPH WHAT A RUSH :rofl: i know it was dumb but i the time and place was right and the car felt good it was the 1st and last time ill get up to that speed but it was fun
the car was still pulling i was in 5th rpm ????? i was just looking at the road soon as i hit 170 mph i backed out (i was running out of room) any one know the top speed for the frc cars....?? :steering:
With 342 gears at 200 it was still slowly pulling, took a little longer past 180 to 185 to get there, I-95 between Daytona and Jacksonville 3am not a sole in sight except the girl with me that was egging me on and the Porche Turbo that ran out of ***** or throttle at about 185--I would have to be in the bag to do that again--I think it may have creeped as high as 210 but it would take a lot of road--
thanks for the info guy's maybe 1 day ill see what it does to the ponit where its not pulling any more i know i wont get any more speed out of 6 th i was taching high @ 170 in 5th if i had to guess i would say 5900 - 6000 rpm so may be 170 is good i dont need a 170 in a 50 ticket lol :eek: :cheers: :cheers: :cheers:
Hum, been to 168 and she was still pulling very hard. Had to back out of it due to a red light, and ahhhh some blue lights. Got the ticket and insurance payment to prove it! 5:30 AM on a Sunday morning. No traffic, great weather, absolutely a pool table highway. Officer was sitting up on a bridge hidden by the railing. I had him by a couple of miles. When I saw his lights, I knew and did not have the HP to out run the Motorola!~
Felony traffic stop, the officer was pretty good about it did not tow the car and let me go home. The judge took it easy on the fine but denied traffic school knowing the insurance would get me! This was in 2000 and the Dragon is a 98 vert. All told with insurance it cost me close to $3K over the 3years.
No whine here, if ya can't do the time don't do the crime!

Rather put the money into the mods than the state. That was an expensive dyno pull!

170 :eek: . Congrats, but you've got more guts than I do. My luck, a police officer would be waiting for me when I hit 170. That would be the end of my Vette ownership.
My rev is set at 6000 with the blower with the 342 it would go about 175 in 5th-pulled strong to 185 to 190 in 6th and was slower gaining speed past that--its insane a blown tire a piece of debri in the road--I did it once and thats it for me--I do blast to 155 to 175 on rare ocasion as it only takes a short time to do it and slow back down, and only under as perfect condtions and I know the highway etc, if a cop ever gets me I'm dead with insurance etc, its just not worth it--but hard to resist blowing the doors off the imports etc, I need to spend more time at a track and get it out of my system.
I pay 429.00 a mounth car insurance , was paying 420.00 got in motorcycle accident i was the only one who got hurt and they raised me to 619.00 a mounth. I shopped around to get the 429.00. I cant believe they didn't throw you in jail. I got stopped years ago on a gsxr 750 got up to 145 and slowed due to traffic when the highway patrol caught up to me, they were out of there juristiction so held me until the local boys showed up who gave me a nice pair of shiny braceletts and a ride for a tour of there work facility. I even got a free picture . where's barney fife when you need him. :nono:
