Anybody ever tried replacing their own floor pan and/or inner fender? It appears the pieces are all epoxied to the frame. I assume I pry the stuff up, grind/chisel the epoxy and stuck bits of fiberglass off, and then lay down a new piece with fresh epoxy, right?
Hope somebody can give me some aid on any of the technical bits, what to watch out for, etc.
The floor pan appears to be about $200, same with the inner fender well, and the epoxy is about $100.
I have a 98 and 02 Z and it looks like the floor boards are glued in place with a glue from a calking gun type applicator. I doubt if it is epoxied in place. Call Ecklers or visit your local GM authorized body shop (i.e. Dealer) and ask them what they sell for the C5 floor board repairs and body repairs..
I bet it is a single stage caulk like material
It may indeed be a 1 part thing, but it has a 9 minute working time so I'm thinking its 2 things you have to mix. Either way, I'll go by a GM body shop this week sometime and see what I can find out.
