Default Borla Stingers and header question.

O.K. I already have Borla Stingers on my 2000 FRC and somewhere in the next couple of weeks I hope to have FINALLY have made up my mind between LGM headers and Stainless Works headers. The question I have is does anybody have either of these set-ups and does the LG or S.W. systems bolt right up to the stingers? From what I can tell the Stingers are 2-1/2 tube and either of these systems are 3".... so that tells me that they will not work together. Am I right or am I missing something here? Thanks for the help!
S.

If I were in your shoes, the first thing I would do is call Borla to see if their system would match-up with 3-inch headers. I've called them a couple of times and they have been very helpfull. Then again, you may just get your answer here.

Good luck!

Hmm, not sure but from my perspective...the production LG header system will bolt on with the stock exhaust (mufflers) on a 2002 Z06. The stingers for the same car bolt on in place of the stock mufflers. Thus the stingers would work fine with the LG headers. Not sure about a 2000 but I didn't think there was that much difference.

I think the three inches referes to the collectors anyway. Not sure about the x-pipe.

I have the Borla Stinger system as well as the Pro LG LT Header system. BTW, the Pro LG LT Header system is mass produced by Borla & the entire system is 3" diameter T304 SS. Call Lou, 1-877-LGMotor, for any questions over the fitment of the two systems but LGM had no problems mating the two systems together on my C5.

Yes LG and SW both offer mid sections with or without cats that will bolt up to a factory catback or Stingers. The kneck the pipe down to 2.5" just before the flange.

Thanks to everyone here for the information and input, sounds like I need to contact LGM and StainlessWorks. Maybe somebody from one of the places will finally settle this debate I have been waging in my head for the last month. Thanks again to everyone.... this site is awesome!
