I was on one of the supporting vendors sites before and spotted these. http://www.madvet.com/shop?store=2&c...244&frame=5119
There was a thread on here regarding a different setup with billet calipers. This seems like a less pricey alternative and lets you use your current calipers. Any experience with these? :steering:
The price there is per rotor, so you are looking at $4000 for all 4. I think these are made by Red Devil. I have heard amazing things about these rotors; the only problem is that because they are ceramic coated they dissipate a lot of heat and without the proper ventillation you could easily get fading. With the proper ventillation these things will stay considerably cooler than other rotors.

Re: Titanium rotors (sebrock)
Really over 4000 :U you can buyrotors from NAPA made in USA for 25 ea  4200/25=168 regular rotors I'd love to see the tax return on the guy who purchases these
I think the key here is reducing your unsprung weight and rotating mass. I'm sure it makes a difference in handling. Don't think it would matter unless you've adressed other things like other suspension pieces.
I wonder if these rotors are approved for factory stock racing? They look similar to standard rotors in the photo. I wonder if they check for this during tech inspections.

:iagree: THat is exactly my point. These rotors weigh approx. 22 lbs less than stock rotors. That is 88lbs. less unsprung weight. Also, what about the GREATLY reduced gyroscopic effect at the front wheels? Also I understand these are virtually indestructable and if properly ventilated will last much longer than stock. If these claims are true, they probably are worth the extra money. Ridiculous to purchase if I am using my car to get groceries though!
Although these systems are extremely expensive...it's still pretty much a new product and making leaps to be creative and push the performance limits even further. So in this regard I think it is great to see product like this being made.....a few years down the line it will be more reasonable and quality will have gotten even better as well as price. If anything it will be a valuable stepping stone in creating better braking applications.
You know.... I don't think the stock rotos even weigh 22 lbs... I know the rears are small... so... I don't buy the 88 lbs less weight... Thoughts?    :skep: :leaving:

I havn't taken them off or changed my stock rotors, so I don't know what they weigh. I was just reiterating what I had read somewhere earlier. I'm wondering about this. Also, the Brembo big brake kits are about the same price as the ZMI's LAPD is handling. I know drilled rotors aren't as strong as solids, but that is for iron, titanium has many different qualities than iron, especially, strength/weight and heat retention. Why do they use it on the skin of the SR77? Just wondering... :)
Well, I changed all of mine... bought the NAPA Rotors... had my next door neighbor drill and slot them... for free... He has done a lot of them, and he does own a high-tec machine shop... his and mine look great, and no cracks...they stop great... But... My bet is the Titanium is 22 LBS. less for all 4, as the 4 stock ones weren't that heavy. :iagree: :leaving: :skep: :smash:

Thanks for the correction AtHomeSoda. 22lb for all 4 is still pretty appreciable. But, if I were going to spend the money for a Brembo pacakge, I would probably get the ZMI's. They look really . I'm wondering if they are as or more reliable in the long run. If so, I'd pay the money to get 22lbs of rotating weight off of my car for Watkins Glenn. I just spent $1600 for headers, mid-section and high-flows so I could get 20hp more. And when the F.A.S.T. manifold comes out, I'm going to spend another $900 to get another 20hp. etc. Hmmm... Maybe if I can't get Tide as a sponsor, I could get Bill Gates.... :steering:
