Default stealth cammer's

I currently trying to decide on my next mod. I've got it down to either, MTI's stealth cam or an LS6 cam. I'm leaning toward the stealth cam, i think it would make more power but would like to know if i will see any performance gain out of it at the track.
I was wondering if anyone has recorded any gains at the track with nothing changed other than the cam of course i realize it has to be tuned. :chevy

I have the 220/220 MTI stealth cam with a .581/.581 and 111I/119E LSA. It does not
idle very smooth at all. The exhaust is a dead give away. And sitting in it idling the car will get into a rythm of shaking back and forth enough to spill a drink if you had one sitting on the center console. It will idle smooth for a second or two again, then it gets back into a rhythm where it rocks back and forth again. The car has been tuned and is idle up to 900 RPM now with the exact same lope. Even at 40 MPH and 1500 RPM with the converter locked it bucks back and forth. You have to get up to at least 50MPH with the converter lock to get rid of the bucking. Thats about 1750RPM or so. I am running the SS3600 converter. The car makes crazy power though. 403 at the wheels at Lou's shop. This is with stock unported LS6 heads. So I doubt the cam is installed wrong. Stealthy this cam is not!

Something doesn't sound right. BTW the LSA is 115 fro MTIs stealth cam. I've heard it in a couple of peoples car and you can't even tell. It is being put in my car as we speak. Should get the car back this weekend. I'll post results.

Lou tuned my setup and it is as good as the idle will get and it is very lumpy but runs strong and put down 403 at the rear wheels with an A4 and unported LS6 heads. The MTI stealth cam is ground 4 degrees advanced that may be what causes the lopey idle. I don't know. But I trust Lou as a tuner and believe that the idle is "normal" But it is blatently obvious that it is cammed.

boos2, please let me know what you think of your cam when you get your car back, i would like to get as many people's opinions as possible. :chevy

If opt not to go with the stealth cam is an LS6 cam worth the money and would i have to raise the idle and/or get a new T/C

No Problem, I am also having it installed with MTIs new Stage 2 E heads so the numbers will be higher than cam only.

BTW if you go to LS1tech.com JMX did a dyno comparison of the LS1 cam and LS6 cam. The cam was the only thing he changed in an otherwise stock car (his girlfriend's). Good info to help you decide if it is worth it.
