TRAP Electron Blue Carbon Fiber (Tunnel Ram Air Pak)
TRAP Carbon Fiber- 25% increase in airflow over the stock Z06 airbox/filter/bridge/accordion system. Testing was done by Dan Gurneys' AAR airflow guru on the Superflow flowbench. Our bottom section was designed by AAR for maximum flow. Our carbon fiber is pure autoclaved, pressurized bladder, vacuum bagged and cured under 100 PSI nitrogen at 290 degrees for hours. The internal finish is smooth. Halltech's first two delivered TRAP CF customers have made over 460 HP with the TRAP CF, tuning and exhaust mods. All bolt on mods! 714-899-3111 or Fax 714-899-3112 This is the exact intake used by Halltech to make their 382.2 RWHP/367.9 ft. lb. torque dyno pull with all stock Z06 exhaust! Available in Carbon Blackberry, Carbon Blueberry, 50th Anniversary Red, Stinger Candy Pomegranate Red. Integrated Carbon Hologram Logos are $20.00 additional. If you are trying to hit 400 RWHP with bolt-ons, this is the intake that will make it happen!
Price: $649.00 Retail.

We don't have a good picture of our Blackberry, except these individual pictures:

I was thinking, did you guys try running a Blackwing filter on this? Hard to be sure from the pics but this filter looks to be smaller and the slanted surface of the Blackwing would put just a little bit more "contact" area of the filter exposed to the air coming in from the tunnel port... 1 more HP?
Thanks.
By the way, your EB colored setup is sooooo

That really does not make much difference in the real world since the volumetric efficiency increase is the first part of the power equation, with the second being cold ram air.
The Blackwing sucks hot air. At 95-degrees IAT, the Blackwing will lose 1 degree of timing. At 135-degrees a full 12 degrees is pulled on the LS1 which equals 10 RWHP.
Our TRAP breathes ambient air from the front facia through the Warhead filter, thus preserving full timing.
In the real world, the Blackwing will be at least 10 RWHP behind the TRAP at all times.
Check out this dyno done by our distributor 21st Century Muscle Car:

This was done with our TRAP, a cooler thermostat, and LS1 Edit Programming. 27 RWHP.

I've seen some Blackwing installs and can see why they draw in hot air. When you say that the Trap breathes ambient air from the facia, does this mean that the air comes in from an opening that you must create? I guess I'm not sure what the facia is. Do you have any pics of the unit already installed?

This is where the Warhead filter is placed. This cutout is only done with our Stage II Tunnel Port modification.
On the LS1, the front bumper (facia) is not a vacuum box, thus all of the air within that area is ambient. Obviously, the Z06 screens or our Tunnel Port make our TRAP much more funtional.
The Stage 2 Tunnel Port creates a Ram Air effect, but is not True Ram Air.

That is, other than the difference in carbon fiber and price.
I'm curious as to what performance improvements have been made since I can pick up a TRIC for $150 that looks no different to the naked eye. :yesnod:
