Default Pressure Sensor Question

Are the tire pressure sensors attached to the inside of the C5 wheel. If so when changing wheels, do you have to get different sensors? If so, and you drive without them do you just get an error message in the D.I.C?

The tire pressure sensors are where the stems are you just remove the lugnut to take the sensors off, but of course you have to remove the tires to do that.

If you don't want the message to display on the DIC, you have to have it programmed out.

the valve stem and sensor is a one piece unit.
if you change wheels you just remove the sensor/valve stem and install it in the new wheel making sure you replace the o-ring. (it goes between sensor and inside of wheel).
if you return the sensors to their original corners it won't be necessary to reprogram them.

I believe that will only work on 2001 or newer models. I think if you have a '97-'00 you'll keep getting the "XXX" message. ;)

The tire pressure sensors are integrated with the Valve stem. You loosen a nut on the stem, then the pressure sensor and associated assembly comes out without any problems. You can change the sensors from wheel to wheel as long as they will fit properly. I did this with my repo Z06's that I have on my car. Works just fine after relearning the sensors.
