Coolant Tank Fill Mark
I can't see the liquid through the wall of the coolant overflow tank to determine if the coolant is at the "full cold" mark. (The wall appears to be a uniform very pale orange color.)
Looking into the neck of the tank, there is a clear plastic cross at the bottom of the neck.
Is this cross at the "full cold" level?
Take the cap off and shine a flashlight into the tank, if you still can't see the level of the fluid and are unable to judge how full it is then you should probably replace the tank. Good luck
Don't think so. Don't fill too full or there will no room for expansion. Can you get a long Q-tip in to wipe the side of the tank? You may want to remove the tank and thoroughly clean it.

Re: Coolant Tank Fill Mark (runamuk)
Thanks guys. I can see the coolant easily by looking into the neck. It is just below the plastic cross across the bottom of the fill tube, so it is not too low. It may be just a bit high.
I wonder if the cross is just to keep objects from falling into the tank when the cap is of. I hoped it was any easy-to-use fill mark since it was at the bottom of the fill tube where the two tube slots begin, similar to a wet cell battery.
i never found an end to this old story line. I would thin the cross marks at top of overflow tank are to prevent junk from getting in. I suspect the fluid level at cold should be about half way down the tank. There are lines on the front of the overflow tank. I need to get my flashlight out to see where it should be when cold. I think a turkey baster or radiator tester (like we used up north in winter) is in my future to take out a bit of excess
