RT Cats-low-ruff idle
Guys can the increased flow from RT cats (which are triggering low effic codes on both cats) cause a rough idle? It is intermittent and drops to 650 rpms......I checked plugs, wires, fuel filter, air filter....and did prelim decarb....any suggestions????? with my mods I didnt think I needed a dyno tune for idle :confused:

I doubt it. I've had high flow cats on a few cars (and no cats at all) and it won't affect idle quality. You sure you got the O2s on right, and plugged in? No exhaust leaks near them? I could see O2 issues causing a rough idle.

cat efficency is monitored by the rear 02 sensors.i would make sure all 4 02's are plugged in right[not crossed,front or rear] and make sure you don't have any air leaks at or after the 02's[make sure they are tight].more than likely they are crossed.

:iagree: I doubt its the RT cats causing the rough idle - most likely your O2 sensors. I would check to ensure they're installed correctly, check the wiring, and ensure the correct sensor is on the right side and not crossed. What codes are showing up? They will usually point you in the right direction.
