I just spoke to the mechanic. When I take the car in for my next upgrade, he will check it out.
When you say pistons, are you talking about the servos? Sorry for my ignorance.

Take it to the shop your overrun clutch has departed or the sprag failed.
I just have to wonder what is gained by going to a shift kit anyway, my A4 will fry the tires on a WOT 1-2 and bark them once in a while on a 2-3.
At one time I had Super Chips programming because I changed my axle ratio to 3.42 and it was to hard shifting so I sent it back and they lowered the line pressure but left the torque managment disabled.
I now have Ed Wright programming because of my ATI and the shifts are normal unless you stand on it. :D
