Default Do I need this Twin Flow Air Intake?

I installed a twin flow air intake at the recommendation of the guy that helped me put on my Borla Stingers. Do I need it, and if so what is it doing for me that I didn't have before? She's stock except for the Borla's and the intake. Thanks for any help.

Not good for much more than Looks. A small gain in Hp. If you want a true Ram air " try Vortec ram air ,Vararam, Halltec,Pro Flow or Blackwing.

The only true RAM-air systems that I know of are Vararam and the Halltech TRAP with Tunnel Port. Systems that "see" cold air but that are not exactly in direct airstream are the Vortex Rammer and the K&N FIPK.

Those breathing in warm or hot air include the Blackwing, Twin-flow, Halltech TRAP without Tunnelport, and a few others. However, if you have a Z06 or open up the foglight panels in a coupe or vert, you can introduce some cold air to the last set of intakes mentioned above.

Fortunately, most aftermarket intake system filters have much greater surface area compared to the stock filter's, so if anything, you should have better breathing and a bit more HP.

:iagree: I put oval shaped holes in my fog light surrounds, approximately 6 square inches per side. I drove around town on a warm Summer night with a good thermometer taped to the fog light opening and another projecting into the airstream just past the filter. Both read 80 deg. F, so the engine was breathing "cool" outside air and not "hot" under-the-hood air.
