I am going to shorten my shifter. Before I go start taking the cosole apart . Does anyone know if the shift boot just pops off? Or do I have to remove the consloe?

It has clips around the inside edge.....push down gently and it comes right out.....but since your changing the shifter the console has to come out anyway.

:iagree: just grab a couple of screw drivers and pry the demon key up, some people have trouble with this, but mine came out w/o any trouble. Removing the interior is pretty easy, there is a how to somewhere on the forum

good luck

Edit: these might help https://www.corvetteforum.com/techti...D=34&TopicID=1 https://www.corvetteforum.com/techti...D=28&TopicID=1

Thanks for thew help guys. I was going to try this http://joshker99.home.comcast.net/shifterpage.htm
but Im opting against it. Im gonna either go with the breathless performance or the B&M. And youre right on the vette essentials site they give dirsctions on how to remove console and shifter and they say its really hard to remove the **** but it took me like 30 seconds. There is a little lip on the key you can just get a good size flathead and pry it out. :skep:
