2002 Torch Red Cpe. A4, 2.73 gears. Only modification is K&N filterw/slight cut out of stock air intake lid. Stock 1/4 mile 13.60@103.49, w/K&N 13.33@105.09. My goal is to go under 13 seconds.
I would like advice on an air intake system that I can install myself. I will be installing performance hood seal & I am very concerned about water problems with some of the systems.
I am aware of some of the systems available - Vararam +40HP, Blackwing +15HP, Vortex +22Hp & Hurricane+35Hp. My leaning is the Hurricane or just installing the Hurricane filter +15HP.
I would appreciate any first hand comments.
Vortec or Vararam was my choices and I am happy with both. The Vortec was a easy install if you buy the pre -cut shroud. Vararam is a good bit of work for any one.
Welcome to the forum (agripp) :seeya  And research this topic well before you decide. There are other air systems out there that work well .
