I'm betting this has been asked a bazillion times before but the search function is less than helpful (I even searched the word "Corvette" in General Discussion and it returned zero results :smash: )
How hard is it to turn my rotors? I'm pretty sure the fronts are warpped prettty badly (lots of pulsing during braking). The dealership wants $250 to turn 'em. It just doesn't seem that hard. Are there instuctions anywhere on the forum? Any help you could offer would be most appreciated. Thanks!!
Sadly the car isn't under warranty any longer. However I am willing to take them off myself. I know that the C5 brake set up is a little different than most. Does anyone know of any "how to" articles on how to disassemble and reassemble the C5's braking system? Thanks for the replies so far!!!

The brakes are actually pretty conventional. Just unbolt the calipers, pull them off, and pull the rotors off. The only issue you'll probably run into is difficulty due to corrosion where the rotor meets the hub.

The fronts are conventional! Easy repair!! I showed my 15 year old son to do it once and now he is a pro! The rears have the E brake hub in the rotor and ya need to remember to release the E-brake!
I have the ability to turn my own! For $25. it really isnt woryh it. Most shops will take a huge amount off each pass and this thinns out the rotor. If they are too thin they will warp even sooner!!!
Mine were only warped a small bit and I only removed 0.006" It worked out fine!
I reused my caliber fastners and secured them with RED Locktite! I also cleaned the HUB and painted it with red 500 degree paint. No more rust on the rims!!!! :hurray: It looks SHARP!!!
