With the 305/35/18, will I have to alter anything in the wheel well?
Nope, your good to go :steering:
Not true, that tire is too and wide without a mini-tube it will rub some.

Again, i have a friend who's running a 315/35/17 on a 9.5" ZO6 rim with no rubbing. He's been using it on his car for about two years now with no problems.
But like i said earlier i would recommend a 10.5" rim
I had a 305 on my car and it did rub. It was too wide. It ended up costing me headache and money.
SIZE:better mounted on a 10.5"(ZO6size) or 11.0" rim, although it will fit on a 9.5" :yesnod:
That tire is alittle to wide for a 9.5' wheel.
I have a 305/45 mounted on a 9.5" rim, works fine :yesnod:
Since you squeesed that tire on a 9.5' wheel, you have made it so the tire doesn't ride on it's full contact patch. Basically the tire is now say a 295 or less. It doesn't make sence to me why people who are trying to max out performance would do this. Did you notice how the sidewall sticks out past the edge of the wheel? I tried this combo too and the tire to me looked as if it wanted to burst off the wheel. Since you went with the 305/45, you must of burned a hole in the well. I know, I tried it.
Tires are the most important thing on the car and people here on the forum are always stuffing big tires on small wheels and then telling people who don't know any better that it works.

I'm not suggesting the 305/45, it is too tall(the 305/35 however is slightly shorter than the stock 275/40), i was just using that to explain that a 305 will fit on a 9.5" rim. True it will not give you full advantage of the tires contact area, which is why i suggested the 10.5" would be better. 11" would be best but then you would have to buy a whole set of new rims, becuase no one makes an 11" rim that looks like the stock rims, you can however buy ZO6 or Y2K rims now in 18x10.5"s. :chevy
