I just put a K&N filter in my 04 coupe. I noticed the filter latches came lose after a few days. After further investigation I found the outside rubber lip of the K&N is not as thick as the factory installed filter this is causing the latch not to have much presure on it when it cams over and locks. any ideas or suggestions.
The K&N filters for the stock airbox come with a rubber gasket that needs to be applied to the bottom of the airbox to make up the gap difference....did you put this part on?
If you are sure that the straps are correctly positioned (I had to spend a little time repositioning mine after replacing the stock airbox), you might just shim the straps from the airbox to increase the tension but I don't think that should be necessary.

Yep found the gasket. I guss instead of designing it correctly K&N to the cheap way out, I would expect something like this coming from china not K&N. :mad
