Dynatech has a good reputation in the f-body world. The primary design does not look like the Kooks more along the TPIS or LG lines. The Dynatechs have not been out long so there is very little known about them.
have them on my car. installed when i did heads and cam. Quality seems to be great and sounded freakin awesome with stingers. I like them. let me know if you want more detailed info

Re: Dynatech headers (TT_Vert)
Yes one company is going to put a positive spin on their product, but I tried to post facts. The fact is they have a 2.5" outlet on their cats, and a 2.5" X pipe and rear pipes. Ours have 3" pipes and cats.
They also have a NON Merge collector and they are 28# heavier than ours.
The questions that you should ask yourself are: Would you take a set of LG headers and "downsize" the cats and X pipe?? or would you take off the race style Merge collector? Or would you reduce the pipe size from 3" to 2.5" on our headers after you bought them??
I think the answer to all of the above is that you would not. And then the only choice comes down to value. Do you accept less than you can get with an LG Motorsports Pro Long Tube header just to save a small amount of $$. And do you accept a heavier header , when you know it takes another 4 hp to overcome the weight?
And for the off road customers, you can purchase the LG Pro Long Tubes with a complete 3" system in the off road/catless version that is not offered by the competitor in question.
Thanks for the interest, and I hope that we can win a World Challenge race with our LG Pro Long Tubes to help prove them out once more.
Okay, help me understand here as I am confused by the "facts."
LG headers have 3" pipes from the cats all the way through to the exhaust.
Dynatech headers have 2.5" pipes exiting the cats that lead all the way through to the exhaust.
LG headers, cats, x-pipe pkg is T-304 stainless steel
Dynatech headers, cats, x-pipe pkg is T-304 stainless steel
LG headers are 32" long x 1.75" dia primary size
Dynatech headers 32" long x 1.75" dia primary size
LG headers claim 25-35+ HP increase
Dynatech headers claim 34-40 HP increase
LG headers have hi-flow Random cats
Dynatech header have hi-flow cats... unknown flow rate
LG headers relocate and use the rear O2 sensors
Dynatech headers use all 4 O2 sensors like the factory setup.
With the LG system having larger pipes and being made out of the same T-304 stainless steel how can there be a full 28lb. difference between the two systems? How much does the entire LG header pkg weigh? How much does the entire Dynatech header pkg weigh?
LG headers have merge collector and claim that Dynatech does not have merger collector. However LG Motorsports purchases merge collectors from Dynatech for their in-house custom built system. Merge collectors on the Dynatech headers appear to be near identical to those on the in-house LG headers.
The LG headers have a proven track record and are an excellent product.
The Dynatech headers are new and little is known.
LG header pkg is more expensive
Dynatech header pkg is less expensive
I believe the Dynatech collector is cast which accounts for some of the extra weight. I also didn't think that Dynatech uses a merge collector in their system, even though they do make them as a separate item. I also believe that the Dynatech are not all the same length primaries, but that they varie by up to 4 inches. Someone please correct me if I am wrong on any of this, but I have been studying these things prior to my planned purchase.
The one outlier, that I have seen nothing on recently, are the Halltech headers that are supposed to be Titanium and have a 60 lb weight savings overall.
FWIW...Im working on setting up a group purchase on the Kooks header set up through MTI. If moneys no object, defiantely go with the LGs as I think everyone would agree they are the best on the market. But for those of us on a slightly tighter budget, Im trying to get a good deal on the Kooks. Should have pricing by wednesday or thursday from Dave at MTI. Email me at GPaules03@hotmail.com if youre interested.
another note....MTI tested the Dynatech and Kooks set up back to back on the same car and saw an additional 4 rwhp and 12 lb ft of torque from the Kooks over the Dynatech. However, that was the Kooks no cat x pipe compared to the Dynatech set up with the cats...so that may be the difference right there. Also, I have no affiliation with MTI or Kooks...just trying to round up as many people as possible for this group purchase so we can all get our headers as cheaply as possible :D :steering:

That's about sums it up.
wt. diff. is about 20lbs (equivalent to about 3hp gained or lost )
If you upgrade the dynatech to the LG it'll cost the same IMHO
If price is the sticking point I'll do Kooks instead
