It's possible, but afaik it's illegal in all 50 states.

*edit* Err.. unless you are off-roading. :)

If you do it and get caught, tell Martha Stewart I said Hi. :jester :jester
I did my 77 T-Bird second day I had it. Back then they didn't check them, or they didn't know how to. :seeya

I have never seen the sense to gutting the cats. If you want to run without cats then go ahead. But instead of gutting them, just cut the entire cat out and replace it with a section of pipe. Why destroy them when it is virtually a certainy that down the road at some point you will have use for them?

:iagree: Not only do I agree what he said, but I had my cats gutted 2 years ago, and YES it sounds great when you get on it. But the smell really sux in your guarage when you fire up your Vette in the morning.

Not only does it smell really bad, I didn't notice any really performance gains, I'd suggest getting free flowing Randum Technology cats. That way you can pass any road side or state test, and still get better proformance over stock cats.
