For some reason after i installed these patriot heads i have approx 2000 miles on these heads if that & it will only do this some times but the car when i crank it up it will smoke then it will go away like i said it will do this 5 out of the 10 times that i crank up the car, it just started doing this yesterday .I hear that its valve guides that are wore out is this correct ?I have seen other cars not vettes do this but now my 2k vette is doing this .Like i said its doing this only when i crank it up Can anyone chime in & tell me what this maybe

Sounds like it may be valve guides or valve seals. I am no expert on the
C5 engine but if this is the case it is probably noticed more when the engine is cold?

DENSCOR has a great suggestion! I recommend trying that first! It's a whole lot easier than a head removal!

sounds like valve seals,if it were guides, you should smoke under high vacuum
situations[when throttle slams shut{on decel}].
i must say,it sounds like patriot has struck again.my suggstion would be to remove the heads and put your originals back on,before you end up with a broken valve spring or sucked valve[also a patriot trademark].call them, they may do you a solid and send you cylinder heads for a pinto!
