My 1 3/4" Kooks headers came out to being the same weight as the stock manifolds, ... These are all as weighed the day of install by me getting on the bathroom scale, getting off and picking up the parts, then subtracting the difference.
I weighed my set on a 50lb postal scale I bought for weighing parts:
Stock Manifolds: 12lbs x 2 (all the double walls were cracked and/or gone !!!)
H-Pipe: 44lbs
Has anyone weighed the Dynatech Supermaxx? Seems out of synch with the rest of the systems. Original theory was they had a cast collector, but that is not true.

I agree, that one does seem a bit off. Maybe some new owner will chime in. I think that weight came from z06vette.com
Wow, thanks for this great info. I've been trying to get an estimate of the weight savings I've achieved with my mods and this has really helped. For those of us with Pre-cats, how much do you think each one would weigh?
While we all realize that lighter means quicker, could it be that the 13 or so lbs of the Dynatechs means that thicker gauge stainless is used? Maybe the flanges welded to the collector tubes that bolt them up to the heads is thicker? Could this possibly mean less prone to stress cracks or other problems? Maybe this is a question we should pose to Dynatech.

I've wondered the same, but I don't think asking Dynatech is the best source, since they'll surely say the extra weight is just extra quality.
I think the best we can do is see if field reports of cracked LGM/QTP/Kooks come back more than Dynatech. Haven't heard of any of these cracking yet. Maybe the Dynatech's have a bit less "ticking" noise transmitted, as is a common complaint with others. Just thoughts.
It could also be that the others just did a better job with weight reduction.
I do know that the four clamps used by Dynatech are quite heavy and weigh something like one pound each. Not sure what the clamps on other systems with cats weigh.
I know I am bumping an old thread but I have a relevant contribution.
