Have any of you, with LG headers, expererience leakage around the merge collectors? I remember reading in one of the posts from Dynatech that, the reason they went to a donut sealing collector, was to prevent leakage because all merge collectors, like LG, have a tendency to leak.
Also, does it really matter that Dynatech only uses 2 1/2" size tubing form their cat back to the hookup to the mufflers. LG's use 3" size tubing. I am not sure what Kooks uses. I am ready to buy and want to have covered all my bases, especially if I am going to spring for another $400 + for the LG's.
Personally, I think a lot of it is advertising. If the LG's consistently leaked, I believe it would have been brought up often on the forum. Some people have had some leaks, but not sure what has become of them. I am going to be in the market for headers, hopefully in late summer. Not sure which way to go at this point and am hoping for more numbers on the Dynatechs in the near future since there was a GP for them. Also, we should be seeing more numbers on the Kooks as well. The GP price on the Kooks was unbelievable, but I just can't pull the trigger right now. I like the LG's, but am concerned with the number of people who get codes after their install. Another reason to wait on my part, I am hoping that some common issue is identified so that I could avoid the problem if I go with LG's. I am also watching the HPTuner web site for their tuning software release, that would allow me to do the tuning or at least keep the tuning of my car after the header installation.
my 98 threw codes related to the o2 sensors,, was told they did not retain enough heat and thats why tohe codes showed up,,, it ran great,, but I feel if you do headers, you should get a good tune, the tuner can delete/edit the codes....LG are great,

i wonder if you take LG's long tubes and HPC coat inside and out, then just the outside of the cats, what would happen? maybe you could use all four 02's in there right place. maybe you might not have to do the cats. i have seen 100 degs difference between the front of the cat and back of it.
:chevy
