I also have a question for the people running the 17" E/T Streets. Are you using your stock front wheels & tires. Have you had any problems with the radials and Bis-Ply combo?
Although it's not a C5, we are successfully running them on my Dad's C4 (see my sig).
I can tell you that the tires work well enough to yank the front tires off the ground 3"!
Here's his 60' times on one evening of racing at e-town:
1.629
1.620
1.621
1.645
1.651
1.629
1.581 (this one was with a powerbrake launch at 1500 RPM, the rest were from Idle).
The tires work very well. However, they are tall at about 27". And they are not very wide. A 9" wide wheel would be ideal. The car looks ridiculous going down the road because the front tires are noticeably wider than the rears!
But at the track they are hard to beat. The spectators are taken by surprise when the see what appears to be a stock C4 with chrome ZR1 wheels yank the wheels of the ground!!!

Yes at the track with lower tire pressures in the rear, you do get a "wandering" feeling. It's a strange feeling at first, the car feels loose. But you get used to the feeling and you just have to be sure not to make abrupt changes in steering or jam on the brakes -- in other words, make very smooth corrections.
However, on the highway when the tires are aired up, it drives fine.
