Heat Socks
Have any of you used the heat socks on the plugs when you did a header install. And if you did, where did you purchase them from and at what cost?

Save and use the stock heat shields that come with the car - they work fine.

I have the "socks" and they work fine. Got mine at a local hot rod store. :)

Yes but they won't work with all aftermarket cables, Taylor Thundervolt 50's for sure and perhaps some others.

Re: Heat Socks (sweetcharity)
on my LG install, I found the stock shields work fine,, but I had heat socks and they look better, so I thought about double up and one plug was so close you cant get both to the sock and metal shield to clear the header...so I went with socks....if I didnt have them, stock would have been fine, infact maybe even better
