After you lower your Vette I know that you have to get an alignment. What I need to know is how much does this change the alignment specs and if so what are they? Or will the Tech just be able to figure it out?

I don't know how much it changes. On my old car (lowered about 1.5") it did not pull in any direction. Car felt great so I did not realign it. Later on I saw the inner thread on the front tires were wearing much quicker. Not sure if it had anything to do with the lowering or not. I would just take it to an alignment shop and have it done. The shop should have the specs on hand. Or you can do a search on here and find plenty of info on it.
Thanks for the reply RoliO. I figure that wearing the inside of a tire would be a direct result of lowering. I didn't find much in my search which did surprise me as I can normally find reams of info on most questions! :p:

Re: Wheel Alignment after Lowering (jrose7004)
Lowering the car will definately increase the camber. You WILL wear the inside of the tires more than normal. If you mostly drive on the street, I would have it re-aligned. $85 is MUCH cheaper than a new set of EMT's when you bald the insides of them. :jester

Re: Wheel Alignment after Lowering (jrose7004)
You are absolutely right. I'am hoping the shop really knows what they're doing! :chevy
They will. I just had mine done this morning with custom specs. No problems and they printed out the baseline and final results so I could see the difference and check their work.
Lowering changes the suspension geometry. I highly recommend a new 4-wheel alignment reguardless of how the car feels. My 99 is lowered about 1". These are my alignment specs (apporx):
Front camber -0.75 each, toe in 1/16 (.06) ea, caster 6.5 ea
Rear camber -0.3 ea, toe in almost 1/16 (.05) ea
Thrust angle is 0.00
Tire wear is fine, fronts are fairly even. Of course, I run on the track every few weeks to scrub off any excess outside tread. :jester
Don't let the tech just get it into specs. Demand equal settings on each side. When the toe setting throws off the camber, ask him to correct them both until YOU are satisfied. I always stand by the machine to check the readout. MOst techs will happily accomodate you. If he doesn't, go somewhere else.

Lowering creates too much negative camber . That combined with a not so great factory alignment isn't good. Get a good 4 wheel alignment and you'll thank yourself for it...
