Default Help! I got the codes, now what?

My check engine light keeps coming on every couple of weeks so I finally did the code scan and got the following:

P1571- ASR Desired Torque
P1626- Theft Deterrent System Fuel Enable Circuit
P1644- Delivered Torque Output Circuit

My question is what do these codes mean and how do I go about fixing them? Any input is greatly appreciated.

1571 - possibly the PCM did not receive a torque signal for three seconds. Inspect PCM harness for tightness (easy). Then probe EBTCM module for a short (harder). If not one of these replace PCM and reprogram.

1626 - disconnect battery positive cable for 1 minute. Will car start or start and die? If still idles check body control systems. PCM, BCM and ignition lock and key are part of this system.

1644 - not listed on my manual.

Both codes indicate much electrical probing and scan tools.

Reading between the line I'd look at the PCM under the battery. Ever have a leaking battery in your Vette?

IMHO, if you do not find a loose wire/ connector either you'll need a manual and time to diagnose yourself or send to dealer.

Thanks for the info  . I suspected lose connections but I wasn't sure where exactly to look. When I get home from work I'm going to start investigating. I'll keep you updated if I find anything suspicious.

Thanks again. :seeya
