Since I have my car in pieces right now for the header install, I figured I'd put my LS6 intake and valley cover on too. My problem is getting the tubes disconnected from the EVAP soleniod, the one on the LH side of the engine.
Any tips tricks etc?
BTW the passesnger side header (I have dynatechs) slid right in. I have to raise the car way up for the driver side still. I want to avoid touching the steering shaft.
Also has anyone welded the mid section on the dynatechs? I figure losing 4 clamps means that much less of a chance of leaks. :yesnod: or :nono:
i was thinking the same thing w/ the mid pipes and cats on my dyna techs. their tech said not to because i cannot replace the cat. I guess i could just buy another pipe and cat if need be. I might be doing the same soon

If I'm not mistaken you'll need to pick up a set of disconnect pieces for these quick connect hose fittings on your car. An inexpensive set of plastic ones is all you need. The set(s)have an assortment of different sizes in them for use on different size hoses. You only need them to disconnect. To re-connect, you just push the male/female ends back together by hand. Most any parts guy can point it out at the parts store.
BTW, don't think you'll only use them for the Evap Purge Solonoid lines. You'll also use them for disconnecting your fuel filter come filter change time. HTH
Thanks for the advice. I have a set of those, they are for the "quick" release fuel lines.
The evap tube disconnects by pressing on the gray clip, I figured it out last night.
If you have to replace the cat, you can always cut the pipes in such a way that you can still replace it. It just takes a angle grinder and patience.
My car gets maybe 5000 miles a year, so I don't think that will be a problem.
I'll let you know what I do.
The clip is shaped like a U, press on the bottom part, and comes right off.
Fun an joy comes when you try to remove the oil filler neck out of the valve cover. Thats another story.
BTW I drove the car last night with the dynatechs. I had installed an LS6 intake and 28lb injectors at the same time, I have not yet tuned anything, but the car felt stronger at 3000 than before.
