Default Halltech Tric

I remember this as the highest performance CAI when I first joined the Forum 3 years ago. Then it sort of went away.
Anyone have thoughts on this intake system, I am considering getting one for my no rain driven, modded Vette. Anyone with good or bad experience, or long term use?

Yes! I just took off my Halltech Titanium TRIC lin Feb because of my move (from Vegas) to Florida. I just dreaded the standing water issue and we have plenty of rain water here. I have the Blackwing now but I still prefer the Halltech TRIC by far. I am planning on advertising it soon (without the air bridge). Deep price cut from orignal $700. Used it for 12K miles.

The Air Intake vs. Air Intake battle will never end. I think most of them still on the market are good (Halltech is above average), but, for the price, I think it is hard to go wrong with the Blackwing. JMHO.

:iagree: but the new Halltech Stinger-R is priced below the Blackwing, yet includes an over-sized airbridge and smooth throttlebody coupler, along with the largest airfilter ever made for the C5. At $199.00, it's a heck of a great deal.

I have run a Tric on my 01 & 02 Z06s and like it alot. Produces good power and a nice sound at WOT.

No issues for me with water in 30K street miles on the two car. And I have driven through some torrential storms.

With the Tric, my 02 on DRs has a bunch of trap speeds over 120 with a best of 120.54. That is at least 1 mph ahead of any other intake on an otherwise stock Z06. Not a big edge, but an edge nonetheless.

Believe there is a Tric (for 01-up) for sale now on the C5-parts board. Seller is trading in his car and selling his mods.

Thanks Ranger and also to everyone who replied. I went ahead and made the deal on the Tric for sale on the Forum.
I already have had a Blackwing for 25,000 miles now and like it. I also did the Zip-tie, But I wanted true Cold air! I haven't seen standing water here where I drive ever so the rain issue should be ok.
I will post my observations on this oldie but goodie CAI when it goes on!
