The filter pictured is the unit we no longer produce and we have completely redesigned the construction process months ago.
We have replaced these units at no charge to customers.

The current filters are welded together using a chemical welding process. We are also useing full Military spec materials.
The current filters are as follows( this will be updated on our website soon)

The Super Street -2 layer, everyday use
HP+ - single layer,Competition ONLY
Baja- 4layer - extreme duty, extreme conditions

We would like for the owner of this filter to contact us toll free 1-866-507-2648 for replacement.

If forum members have any guestions simply E-mail sales@vararam.com atten :VR Tech

The new improved filter is 10 times better than the old design. I went through two of the older designed filter in a span of 6 months. Which BTW were both replaced free of charge by Patrick. The third filter I got was the new design. I just took it out this weekend for cleaning and it was in perfect condition. No rips, no tears, and no broken seems. Although, it was quite dirty but that is to be expected after 6000 miles. Outstanding customer service by Patrick.

On a side note; I also have the K&N filter which I used awaiting one of the replacement filters and it DOES decrease performance noticeably.

Can you use a regular K&N Recharge kit to clean the Vararam filter?

The K&N filter oil is NOT the same oil as what is used in a foam filter!!

Use ONLY FOAM FILTER OIL in the V-Ram filter.

K&N is NOT a foam filter....

According to the instructions that came with my filter. This was taken from the re-oiling section.

"Re-oiling

Use ANY aftermarket cleaning kit. We prefer PJ-1, available at most motorcycle shps at a 1/3rd the price of leading cleaning kits."

I would be happy to email a copy of the instrctions to any one that wants them.
