I am converting my C5 to an FBody style Trottle Body setup, this means switching from "Fly by Wire" to a true throttle cable. Someone on here mentioned to me a while back that someone makes and sells a conversion kit for this, that includes the trottle cable, brackets, fittings ect. ?
Re: Throttle Cable Conversion Kit for C5?? (Blkout)
Its not your avg. street C5, I am running a FAST 90MM TB with a sheet metal intake, I am also swithing to a Gen 7 DFI or Big Stuff 3 SEFI(undecided yet) and in which case neither will support a "fly by wire" setup.
An f-body cable will work too, and the braided version of th lokar cable is in stock, but you need to fab a new pedal arrangement. The fly by wire TB still has a TPS on it, isn't that all the FAST/big stuff system needs? The motor that controls the TB blade operates independently from that, and has it's own control box. The two might be able to co-exist.
Re: Throttle Cable Conversion Kit for C5?? (ASP Z)
Your right there is a seperate control unit "TAC" that controls the trottle blade solonoid on the fly by wire system, the only prob is it has a serial connection that runs through the PCM, and will not work without it, since the PCM is replaced by the DFI I cant go that route.
I am also running the FAST 90MM TB which has a Air Idle Bypass, which a vette does not have either, so I have to run an Fbody style DFI/PCM harness as well.
I think I am just going to try and order a stock Fbody cable as it will fit the Tbody nicely, and then fab something up on the pedal.
