Using CAGS for 3-2 lockout
Stock, CAGS kicks at something like 20mph-40mph, with additional stuff needed like engine load, oil temperature. Maybe some other stuff that I don't remember and don't want to look up
Anyway, the idea is that you set CAGS (using LS1 Edit or other programmer) so that it still works, but only kicks in when >85Mph, or whatever suits you, so that when you're at the strip and you're in 3rd gear, you CANNOT shift back into 2nd gear. Apparently (Mike?) Harlan of Harlan Shift Lights is working on a unit to do this, but still in the development phase.

That is real good news! That is a MUST HAVE item for me. Anybody out there have the details on how to use edit to do this?

Set MPH for 60, or where you know you will not want to downshift from 3rd to 2nd.
Set engine load as low as possible. This will allow you to lift off the throttle and still keep you locked out of 2nd.
Leave oil temperature alone.
Of course, the easy way to do this is simply hardwire the CAGS solenoid and flip a switch when after you shift into 3rd.
