Editing cars computer
A mechanic at a local garage told me that if you unplug the battery while you are modifiing intake and exhaust the car's computer will automatically know the aftermarkets parts are on and adjust iteself. Is that true? Or does someone always have to go in to the computer and program them?

But if you do something simple lke add longtube headers and an LS6 intake the car will run fine, all of the Corvettes as delivered could benefit from a custom dyno tune but there is no way the computer will know anything unless yo tell it.

That's because the car has sensors that recognize the increased airflow and can adjust the computer accordingly. But, like was said above, most other performance mods will likely require a retuning of the PCM.
