Default HELP!!! CD Changer Wire Harness...Where Is It?

Hi All,

I just picked up my 01 and now have it in my possession. I see that I once had a cd changer as the carpet in the trunk storage compartment is factory cut-out for one, and my option codes in the glove box say it was there.

Could someone with the original 12-changer installation, tell me where the wire harness is routed in the trunk area? Maybe mine is tucked out-of-sight, or cut off at a point. If I knew where it is supposed to be, I could search more inteligently without taking half the car apart.

Thanks!

The factory harness gets routed to the pass side of the car (it should be tied to RR taillamp harness) all the way to right side of the pass seat and to the BCM (under pass side dash footwell cover). Mike Mercury has posted about this subject. Do a search.

Thanks Ragtopws6, I'll check tonight. Hopefully I've got it there hiding somewhere.

Following through.

I did find the wire harness and connector. GM has it routed on the rear-most area, on a 2 inch shelf thing, below the trunk release hardware.

I wonder if all Corvettes have the harness, even though not originally equipped with the 12 CD changer.

The harness only comes with the car if the cd player was factory installed. Aftermarket installation requires a harness be installed.

YEP!!!! ZO6's do NOT have the harness and you have to purchase it, install it and mount the changer!
