Those with Bassani Headers please step inside.....*
Hey guys,
I have a chance to buy some Bassani 1 3/4 LT Headers from somebody local. Are you guys happy with these?? They dont get as much press as the TPIS and LGM headers so I couldnt find many threads on them. Did you get a tune after installing them?? Throw any codes??? Anybody have any dyno gains? If you have these, please tell me anything you know about them-- it will help in my decision. All information is appreciated.
Thanks guys
I've had them for 2.5 years. Besides being beautiful they have been great. I've had no problems (thanks to the great install done by Nate and Company when he was at Xtreme).
I did not get a tune afterwards, the only proof I have of their benefit is in the seat of my pants, and my ear drums. They have passed 2 emissions tests. I've had no codes or any other problems with them. That includes no issues with burnt sparkplug wires.
thanks wwashing.,
Glad to hear you have good results. Anybody else???
Also, are you using the stock plugs and wires or did you change
those out when you changed headers???

I switched to Bosch+4s and was already using Magnacore wires when the headers were installed.
Check the Corvette Fever web site and Bassani's. CF did an article on them with a post install dyno. The only thing I didn't like about them, minor, is they are not stainless.
I was reading the Vicini website and they show some strong gains in torque at the low RPM range where us street guys need it. Look at their project car and after each mod they show a dyno sheet. The headers look good

I have to appologize. I missread the original posting, I have Belanger headers, not Bassini! Never mind!

Thanks guys for the replies. I checked out the article in
corvette fever, and man, they had some nice gains on a stock A4 car.!
Maybe its time to get headers to match my cam.
Iceman,
you should check out their website then. They are holding a contest for the next bassani girl on there and they show all of there entry pictures. Looks very nice
I have had mine for about 8 mos. They really work well, no leaks
no codes. Go ahead a by their high flow cats and install all at the
same time. I recommend using 02 sims on the rear sensors. You will
be impressed. As for as not being stainless the powder coating they use is top quality, and has less engine heat than stainless.

I got my set based on suggestion from LAR66BB. And I could not be happier with them. Gary
GREAT!!! Im glad you guys have had such good results with these. Like I said, they dont get as much attention as some of the other headers, but I knew the forum would come through for me. WEll, Im the proud new owner of a set of Bassani headers with crossover pipe and hi-flow cats!! BTW, how is the installation.?? I heard the kooks are a PITA, so how do these compare?? anyone??

Good luck on the install ....LS1HowTo is a great help in general...be careful with those header bolts....
The 02 simulaters just fools your pcm with the data it wants to see, after install of headersand free flow cats your exhaust is going to move more air just like if you used no cats at all. The simulaters just send the correct message so you won't see the check engine light.

I would see if you get any codes before taking steps to eliminate them...some folks havea lot of issues with headers and high flow cats for other there are no issues... even with no tune yet I'm not having any code issues...I think LG sells sims and the sensors can be deleted with LS1 edit... if you look to retune after install...
